TDTU continues to expand educational cooperation with Finland

On February 18, 2019, Saimaa University of Applied Sciences (Saimaa), Finland visited and worked with Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) on the cooperation between the two universities. Attending the meeting, there were Dr. Tran Trong Dao, TDTU Vice President and representatives of Faculty of Business Administration and College of International Studies. From Saimaa’s delegation, there were Mr. Turo Kilpelainen, Managing Director of Saimaa and representatives of the Faculties of Saimaa.
Two universities have in-depth discussions on cooperation programs for undergraduate training programs, exchanges of students, lecturers and professors. Saimaa is the first university from Finland to establish a partnership with TDTU. Therefore, TDTU hopes that this will be a solid first step for TDTU in particular and Vietnam education in general to take closer steps to the advanced education of Finland. At the meeting, Mrs. Petra Yli-Kovero, Head of International Business, Tourism and Hospitality, said that she had been very interested in short-term and long-term training programs which are specifically designed for groups of 10-20 TDTU international students. She added that this program had been very special, and will create favorable conditions for Saimaa’s students to have opportunities to study at TDTU and interact with Vietnamese culture. On the same day, the representative of Saimaa had a meeting and introduction about Saimaa to TDTU students.
Saimaa University of Applied Science is located in South Karelia, Finland and is the leading Finnish university in applied sciences. The institution offers degrees in 5 disciplines with more than 20 different programs. The programs in Mechanical Engineering and Production Technology, in International Business, in Hotel, Restaurant and Tourist Management and Nursing are delivered entirely in English. At the graduate level, the university offers degrees in International Business Management and Fine Arts.
