An Extensive Cooperation between Lakehead University and Ton Duc Thang University

On March 10, 2023, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) and Lakehead University (LU), Canada signed an MOU in the disciplines of education, research and academic exchange. The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. James Aldridge - Vice President in charge of international cooperation and Ms. Lorraine Luong - officer in charge of LU in Vietnam. On behalf of TDTU, there were Dr. Tran Trong Dao - President, Dr. Dinh Hoang Bach - Acting Director of the International Cooperation, Research & Training Institute, and the heads of related faculties and institutes.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. James Aldridge expressed his impression on the development of TDTU - a public University in Vietnam, with exemplary training quality and high position in the world rankings of prestigious universities. He also invited TDTU students to study in Canada and expressed his hope that LU students would soon have the opportunity to come to Vietnam, especially after a protracted break brought on by the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to the discussion, the two parties agreed to jointly exploit the existing potential of each University, through activities like developing joint programs (2+2 or 3+1) for disciplines of the Economic sector; supporting TDTU's senior students to do their thesis and complete their internships at LU; planning short-term exchange programs for students from the two universities, with a particular focus and consideration of scholarships to TDTU students participating in the "SEED Program 2023" organized by Lakehead University; carrying out joint research projects and coordinating the organization of international scientific conferences, etc.
LU is a public university located in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. Founded in 1965, LU is currently ranked 64th among the most influential universities in the world, according to the results of THE Impact Ranking 2023.
