On July 3-4, 2024, the 3rd International Conference on Advanced Smart Materials and Structures 2024 (ASMaS 2024) was held at Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU). The conference saw the participation of scientists, experts, and research scholars from universities and institutions in various countries such as Germany, the UK, South Korea, Australia, Russia, China, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.
The organizing committee included notable figures such as Prof. Le Khanh Chau, Advisor of the Institute for Advanced Study in Technology and Chairman of the Conference; Prof. Weihua Li, Director of the Advanced Manufacturing Centre at the University of Wollongong (Australia) and Co-Chairman of the Conference; and Prof. Nguyen Xuan Hung, Director of the CIRTech Institute, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, who was the keynote speaker. Several other speakers from domestic and international universities also attended.
Representing TDTU were Dr. Vo Hoang Duy, Vice President of TDTU; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Duc Hien, Head of the Department for Management of Science & Technology Development; Dr. Dinh Hoang Bach, Director of the International Cooperation, Research & Training Institute; along with leaders from various Departments, Faculties, and Institutes of TDTU.
The 2024 conference attracted significant interest from scientists both within and outside the country, with 46 outstanding scientific papers presented. After a rigorous review and selection process, the scientific committee will evaluate and select the best papers for publication in a special issue of the Journal of Intelligent Material Systems and Structures (WoS).
ASMaS was first held in November 2021, with the goal of creating a high-quality academic exchange forum for domestic and international scientists to discuss the latest research in science, engineering, and technology, focusing on smart materials and structures, combined with computational science and big data science. Additionally, ASMaS provides an opportunity for PhD students and students majoring in natural sciences and engineering-technology to learn from leading experts, update the latest research trends, expand their professional knowledge, and build international cooperation networks.
