Cooperation with Purdue University Northwest, USA

On the afternoon of October 4, 2019, on the sidelines of the International Conference on Innovations in Social Sciences and Humanities Conference -2019 (ISSH 2019), Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) had a meeting with the universities that co-organized the workshop; at the same time, TDTU signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation with Purdue University Northwest (Purdue Northwest): PNW.

Attending the meeting were Mr. George F. Kacenga, Executive Director of Global Engagement; PhD. Elaine Carey and PhD. Kim Scipes, members of the PNW Scientific Committee; PhD. Usula Rao, Leipzig University (Germany); PhD. Joyce C.H. Liu, National Chiao Tung University (Taiwan); PhD. Guido Abbattista, member of Scientific Board of the University of Trieste (Italy). From the TDTU side, there were PhD. Tran Trong Dao, Vice President, as well as Leaders of Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Faculty of Business Administration, Department for Management of Science and Technology Development. 

At the meeting, PhD. Tran Trong Dao introduced the prospects of cooperation between TDTU and partner universities on education and scientific research.

PhD. Elaine Carey believed that the co-organization of summer courses and short-term exchanges would bring many benefits to students. For the educational cooperation program 2 + 2 and 3 + 1, PNW is interested in Social Work in particular and the field of social sciences and humanities in general at TDTU.

PhD. Guido Abbattista highly appreciated the success of cooperation programs in the past between TDTU and the University of Trieste. He proposed to expand cooperation in the field of social and humanities beyond the disciplines belonging to the current engineering group.

PhD. Ursula Rao from Leipzig University is especially looking forward to implementing long-term cooperation with TDTU to build a community of expert-professors who take part in guiding graduate students, not only in Vietnam or Germany, but also in other European countries in the network of Leipzig University.

PhD. Tran Trong Dao said TDTU is willing and eager to promote exchange programs for professors, foreign experts and internships for international students on both short-term and long-term visits in Vietnam. In addition, the University Consortium International (UCI), chaired by TDTU as the current President, also welcomes new members to expand the development potential for universities around the world.
