The University of Canterbury visited and worked with Ton Duc Thang University

On Monday afternoon, July 29, 2019, the University of Canterbury (New Zealand) led by Dr. William Shannon, Head of the International Cooperation Department, visited and worked with Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU). Welcoming the delegation, there were Dr. Tran Trong Dao, Vice President, Dr. Le Van Ut, Head of Science and Technology Development Management Division, Ms. Le Thi Vui, Assistant to the Faculty of International Education and TDTU international cooperation specialists.

The two universities discussed details of educational cooperation programs, student and faculty exchanges. Dr. Tran Trong Dao expressed his willing that the University of Canterbury will have special exchange programs for TDTU. Dr. William Shannon appreciated TDTU's friendliness and professionalism, and replied that it would offer scholarships specifically for TDTU students to study programs at the University of Canterbury.

University of Canterbury was founded in 1873 and is the second oldest university in New Zealand, in Christchurch City. In 2018, Canterbury ranked 231st in the world (according to QS University Rankings) and is in the world's top universities. Currently, nearly 17,000 students are studying at the University of Canterbury, including more than 2,000 international students from more than 70 countries around the world.
