Ton Duc Thang University cooperates with New Zealand’s universities

On March 17, 2023, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), together with The Universities New Zealand (UNZ), including the University of Auckland, Lincoln University, University of Canterbury, Auckland University of Technology, University of Otago, Waikato University and Education New Zealand, organized a workshop with the theme "Postgraduate Education in New Zealand" in the combination form of face-to-face and online. The event attracted the attendance of a large number of TDTU lecturers, students, candidates and employees who are in need of improving their professional knowledge to seek opportunities to become international students of master's and doctoral programs in this country.

Speaking at the workshop, Dr. Dinh Hoang Bach - Acting Director of TDTU’s International Cooperation, Research and Training Institute highly appreciated the learning environment and sustainable training program of the New Zealand education system, and shared TDTU’s great interest in equipping students with necessary knowledge and skills to meet the needs of society, creating a launcher for continuing their studies to higher education levels.

The workshop provided a lot of information about the scholarship policy to attract talents and the country's educational approaches through scholarships and supports for international students in general and students at TDTU in particular. In addition, the UNZ speakers also introduced the postgraduate training program and the system of facilities for research projects. Through the presentation, students had a better understanding of life, studying, and working conditions in New Zealand.

TDTU lecturers and students had an insightful discussion with the speakers about how to seize the opportunity to pursue master’s and doctoral degrees for Vietnamese students, attractive training programs, and opportunities to continue learning and settlement, other support policies for international students in New Zealand, etc.

In addition, UNZ and TDTU discussed cooperation potentialities in the field of education such as: organizing short-term courses, exchanging students between New Zealand and TDTU, creating favorable conditions for TDTU students to conduct research projects which are directly guided by highly experienced lecturers at both undergraduate and graduate levels, deploying educational joint programs in the form of 3+1 and 2+2, enhancing the exchange of high-quality teaching staff between the two sides, and researching and publishing scientific articles.
