Ton Duc Thang University Welcomed and Collaborated with the Hong Kong Polytechnic University

On January 23, 2024, the representatives from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), led by Professor Jin-Guang Teng - President of PolyU and the Presidential Board of PolyU, visited and had a working session with Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU).
On the side of TDTU, to welcome and work with the partner, there was the presence of Dr. Tran Trong Dao - President, Dr. Dinh Hoang Bach - Director of the International Cooperation, Research & Training Institute (INCRETI), and leaders of some faculties of the University.
The delegation visited the Library, the Vietnam-Finland International School, and the Stadium, and then had a working session with the Presidential Board and some units of TDTU.
In his speech, Professor Jin-Guang Teng, President of PolyU, provided an overview of the formation and development of PolyU, and expressed his admiration for TDTU’s facilities. He also extended his gratitude for the warm hospitality and friendliness of the University. Also, he expressed the desire to collaborate with TDTU in various areas, including implementing short-term programs for students of both institutions, cultural exchanges, building joint training programs for both single and dual degrees at the undergraduate level, and collaborating on research between research groups, centers, and research institutes of the two universities. Moreover, he proposed the implementation of teaching activities for students through the self-service projects model.
At the working session, Dr. Tran Trong Dao - President of TDTU, expressed his gratitude for PolyU’s interest. Simultaneously, he shared the formation and development of TDTU, and highlighted the achievements the university has attained through collective solidarity, effort, the spirit of devotion, dedication, and creativity of all lecturers and staff. In addition, the Presidential Board of TDTU also presented the university’s development goals and expressed the hope that in the near future, there will be a signing ceremony for collaboration between the two institutions aiming to exchange experiences and jointly develop research and education.
PolyU was established in 1937 as the Government Trade School. PolyU strongly focuses on science, engineering, and technology, addressing emerging technologies such as AI, data science, robotics, additive manufacturing, and biotechnology. Currently, PolyU is ranked 65th in the QS World University Rankings 2024, 87th in THE World University Rankings 2024, and 14th in THE Asian University Rankings 2024.
